Eksempler
Lotte Elizabeth:
Lotte graduated from the Veterinary School in Kosice one year ago. Throughout her studies, she worked and practiced at the local animal clinic in Skien, her hometown. After graduating, she was fortunate enough to step right into a maternity leave substitute position at that clinic.
After one year there, Lotte has gained more confidence in both internal medicine and surgery, and she has decided to learn more about endocrinology. However, Lotte is young, single, and has many other things she wants to do. She wants to travel for a few months in Asia, and she wants to train for a triathlon next year.
Lotte also wants to experience new places in Norway and step out of her comfort zone. She decides to take on short-term locum positions. She first gets a position at a busy clinic on the west coast of Norway with three veterinarians. The first week is a bit challenging with many new people and new routines to learn, but she is well received and quickly finds her flow in her work routine. After two months there, the locum position comes to an end, and Lotte has gained many new contacts, learned new routines, and developed as a veterinarian.
As planned, Lotte travels to Asia for three months. Since she lives flexibly as a locum veterinarian, she has no fixed rental expenses in Norway, and therefore, her only regular expense is her student loan, which she pays off each month using her savings.
Upon returning to Norway, Lotte declares herself available again, and it doesn't take more than a week before she receives an offer to help out at a clinic in Harstad! Lotte has never been to Northern Norway before but has heard that it's absolutely magical. She accepts the offer without hesitation!

Kurt Rune:
""Krune," as all his friends call him, has been working at a small animal clinic for 12 years. He has always worked at the same clinic and is very comfortable and experienced there. However, lately, he has lost some of his enthusiasm. The days have become routine, with one day being similar to the next. When he writes in his diary at night, he struggles to remember what he did during the day. He needs a challenge. Krune asks the clinic's manager for an unpaid leave of absence for six months. He wants to continue working at his clinic but needs some time for other things. During the first month of his leave, he stays in his apartment and focuses on himself. He exercises a lot and starts practicing meditation and yoga. For the first time in his life, he tries partner dancing with an intensive salsa course. After a month, he starts thinking about what he can do to regain his passion for his profession. He decides to work as a locum veterinarian. He easily finds short-term tenants (3 months) for his owned apartment. Being such an experienced veterinarian, he receives offers from all over the country. He accepts an offer from a clinic in Stavanger because he has always wanted to see Jæren and the people there seem jovial. Krune is determined to try and learn the protocols of this new clinic. It is a significant change from what he is used to, and at times, he feels like a fresh graduate all over again. But he maintains a positive attitude and learns quickly. After a few weeks there, he experiences a strong sense of accomplishment. Krune was nervous about this project because he was unsure if he could adapt after so many years in the same place, but it exceeded all his expectations. The spark is back. After three months there, he hears about a position in Florø. What a place, right by the sea, near the fjord, with plenty of mountains to climb. Krune immediately accepts the offer, with the condition of taking a short vacation first. After two weeks in Tenerife, he feels ready for two months on the west coast of Norway!
